Why do we treat our soils like dirt?

In celebration of 2015 International Year of Soils, Phil Warman, PhD, PAg, will present a lecture and discussion on the importance of building and maintaining good soil health for home, garden, and farm.

With the participation of the audience and the use of a few props, Phil will describe the fundamental differences between soil and dirt. Then the discussion will focus on how farmers and land owners can maintain soil quality so that their soils do not degrade to dirt, as has happened in past civilizations and still continues today throughout the world.
