Already Done! -Crossroads Educational Vegetable Garden – Fall Harvest

Already Done! Already Harvested! A record amounts of veggies were harvested this year – 421 pounds!!! All the veggies were donated to the St Margarets Bay Food Bank. The garden was harvested earlier than planned – conditions were such that they just had to be harvested quickly.
This garden is maintained by volunteers to inspire the community the benefits of ‘Grow Your Own’ food gardening. All vegetables are donated to the St Margarets Bay Food Bank.
The final 2015 harvest came in at 421 pounds as follows:
Potatoes (Yukon Gold and Red Chieftain) – 96 lbs.
Onions (Talon) – 45 lbs.
Beets (Detroit Red) – 50 lbs.
Cabbage – 28 lbs.
Kale (Borecole) – 50 lbs.
Chard – 38 lbs.
Carrots (Nantes) – 55 lbs.
Parsnips – 15 lbs.
Rutabagas – 44 lbs.
